Which dogs will benefit the most from remote training? Our experience shows that fearful dogs can be gently taught to pay attention to the handler, and to respond positively to the handler, thereby reducing the stress that comes from being fearful. Dominant dogs are quickly and effectively brought into line with remote training, without any need to physically engage the dog in what often turns into a contest of strength and will between dog and owner. "Hyper" and high-energy dogs can be given more exercise, more easily, when trained to respond to a remote collar. Families with multiple dogs often experience frustration when the dogs are interacting with each other and fail to acknowledge commands. Remote training gives you the ability to communicate more effectively with dogs who are choosing to ignore you in favor of playing or interacting with other animals in the household. Submissive dogs are more easily trained when you don't have to become physical with them. Dogs with high prey drives and low dependence, such as terriers and hounds, learn rapidly and without harsh methods to respond off-lead, each time, EVERY time. Ask any "positive" trainer how long it will take to get a prey-driven terrier to respond reliably off-lead, even under distraction. Dogs enrolled in this program must stay at our kennel
for a minimum of two weeks (actual duration depends on dog's
breed, prior training experience, and problems, but no dog needs to
remain in training for more than 3 weeks), where they will undergo daily
training, working quickly into off-lead work. At the conclusion of
training, you are required to attend a training session that will
familiarize you completely with your new remote training collar, the
commands used with your dog, when to praise, when to correct and help on
reading your own dog to avoid problems in the future. We fully
support this program, and additional training sessions may be scheduled
at no charge, as often as you wish, until you are satisfied with the
dog's responses. If at any time in the dog's lifetime you are
dissatisfied with the training, we will do whatever it takes to satisfy
you.
This program is a package - it doesn't matter how long your dog actually stays at our kennel, you simply pay a flat fee. This package also includes a FREE TriTronics Sport Basic remote collar, yours to keep, and unlimited support in person, over the phone or over email. More testimonials are available here. This program has rapidly become our most popular, so we usually have a waiting list. Enrollment is open any day of the week that we have available space (except Sundays) and all dogs will graduate 2 weeks from that day. We do encourage all available family members to attend the graduation lesson, so there is no post-training confusion for either your pet or your family members! $750.00 includes all training + a FREE remote collar (valued at $239.00). Dogs in the kennel are fed Exceed, a chicken-based dry food. If you wish to feed another brand, you will need to provide that to us. We also require that all dogs brought to the kennel have Frontline treatments before arriving. We can also apply the Frontline upon arrival, and there will be a charge of $7.00 per dose. We recommend that all dogs in training receive heartworm preventative all year in Georgia. We can provide the necessary monthly dose at a cost of $5.00/dose, or please provide your own in a clearly marked plastic zip-close-type bag.
