We are located in Northeast Georgia, just outside of Winterville and
minutes from Athens and UGA. Our kennel is situated on a quiet
dirt road, surrounded by over 300 acres of leased cattle property for
our use. With 3 ponds and hundreds of acres of gently rolling
terrain, we can train every day in a different section, if needed.
Our kennel building is placed just 25 yards from our home, where we can
hear any
disturbances. Each dog is housed in an individual
indoor/outdoor run. The 4' x 4' interior area is connected to a
shaded outside 4' X 8'
run. In nice weather, run doors are left open during the day, so
your dog can lounge wherever he pleases. Runs are cleaned and sanitized
at least once daily. We provide supervised exercise outside, on
grass, for those dogs who wish to keep their kennels clean. In the unlikely event that a dog in our care becomes
ill or injured, our policy is to seek immediate treatment, and to notify
the owner as soon as possible. All vet bills will be the
responsibility of the owner. We do include complimentary bath and
nail trims to all dogs that are kenneled for more than 30 days.
Medications such as heartworm preventative, Frontline (or similar
flea-control products), thyroid medications, etc. are all given as
needed, at no extra charge when provided by the owner. We also offer our dogs occasional
pressed rawhide chews, when approved by the owner.
While we live on the grounds of our kennel, we
still
observe "hours" for the sake of giving the dogs as much
routine as possible. It is very stressful to the dogs to have
visitors at all hours, especially early in the day, and after
feeding. We also frequently train on the adjacent 300+ acres,
making running back to the kennel to greet someone very
impractical. For this reason, we operate on an
appointment basis only, and do not accept incoming or outgoing dogs either
before 8:00 am or after 6:00 pm. Any visitors who arrive without
making an appointment run the risk of missing us, as we are often away
from the buildings. We are closed on Sundays and major holidays,
without exception. There will be a $35.00 convenience charge added
to your total bill for any arrivals or departures during closed hours.
