Additional Services

To best accommodate our clients, we provide the following services, at the following rates.

  1. Airport Pickup/Delivery: Ship to/from Hartsfield International Airport (atl).  We do ask that shipping arrangements be made at a time when traffic would be minimal (usually either midday or after 6 pm).  The airport is almost 2 hour's drive from Athens, and Atlanta traffic is among the worst in the country.  We recommend flying dogs on Delta  as they have direct flights almost anywhere.   We will not book any flights for your dog that are anything but non-stop.  Note that there is usually a flight embargo from May through September (country-wide), and that no airline will ship a dog when the temperatures anywhere along the route will exceed 85` or go below 20`.  Our fee for either pickup or delivery to the airport is $60.00/trip, and DOES NOT INCLUDE the veterinarian's health certificate required by law.  Any additional vet charges (such as vaccinations, treatments, medications, etc.) will be charged on your invoice.  You MUST contact us prior to making shipping arrangements in either direction.

Greater Atlanta Pickup/Delivery:  On occasion, we are able to provide either pick-up and/or delivery of boarding/training dogs (availability depends on daily schedule).  We will arrive at your door at an agreed-upon time that must be arranged in advance.  The fee is $60.00/trip (for example, pick-up and delivery will result in a total $120.00 charge on top of the boarding/training fee).  Sunday trips will also result in the addition of a $35.00 convenience fee.

  1. OFA/CERF exams:  We use a homeopathic vet who takes OFA films without anesthesia for any dogs needing clearances while in training.  A credit card number is required, and will be given to the clinic to cover the bill.  Please call to get the fees for OFA films.  The clinic we use is in Hendersonville, NC, and the roundtrip will take half of a day.  Transport fees are split amongst the dogs who travel, but is a minimum of $20.00.  Any single dog going for films will be charged$25./hr travel time.  Please call to discuss this trip if you are interested.
  2.  CERF exams can be also be scheduled through a board-certified ophthalmologist at the University of Georgia, and all paperwork will be forwarded on to you for submission.  Our fee for transporting the dog to and from these appointments is $25/visit.
  3. Handling fee:  We can enter and run your dog at all AKC hunting test events and sponsored WC/X tests for $70.00 per test.  All ribbons, rosettes, certificates will be returned to you.  We will submit paperwork to FCRSA at no charge, but will charge the $5.00 fee that FCRSA imposes for non-FCRSA events.
  4. Bathing/nail trims:  All dogs in training for more than 30 days receive complimentary baths once a month.  Nails are also trimmed at this time.  Basic grooming is also available - fees vary depending on the size/condition of the dog; please call for a quote.
  5. Dispensing medications:  We do not charge for dispensing medications such as thyroid replacement, heartworm preventative, flea control products, etc., UNLESS we use our own supplies (in which case we simply charge our cost).  Please be sure that we have  a good supply of these items so that they may be given in a timely manner.
